When it comes to managing and monitoring resources, most organizations rely on Microsoft Excel or other 3rd party tools to keep track of their projects and resources. These documents often go through all members of the team, generating false data in business critical reports. Unauthorized employees might also have access to sensitive and confidential data which should not be visible to them. Many companies have a hard time keeping up with the status of their projects, resources allocated, and other areas of business development. The process of manually assembling the data to generate a report is cumbersome and unreliable. Project Managers and CEOs need easy, visual indicators to generate reports and assess various data against one another.
Solution
Using Power BI, we designed a solution that compiles data from several sources, filter data to specific users and presents the data in the form of an intuitive visualization that allows the Project Managers and CEOs to gain a detailed insight about their business. This eliminates the need to rely on multiple tools to record data and dramatically reduce the time taken to access your vital data. Detailed information about the resources appointed on a project, total resources available, attendance of the resources, customer hours, labor report, hours per project etc. can be visualized in both tabular and graphical forms and reports can be generated easily. Every employee from team member to CEO can view different data sets, with different KPI, charts and graphs. All data are stored in one place and can be accessed whenever necessary.
