Signature Trend Advisory (ST Advisory), Malaysia, was in need of technical assistance for the development of a comprehensive commodity monitoring dashboard for a government organization of Brunei. The objective was to create an interactive dashboard that would contain the summary report and allow monitoring of the commodities based on region.
Solution
A dashboard was developed on Power BI that was aimed at analyzing and displaying commodity information of the agriculture industry such as crop characteristics, crop yield, livestock, farmers’ demography, commodity export-import status etc. Using the data, the dashboard was capable of analyzing crop groups, compare between different farmer categories and perform YoY analysis and display the results in the form of tables, graphs and charts. The dashboard also provided useful insight on geographical characteristics of agricultural commodities, their productions and sales distribution, and overall market trend. The homepage of the dashboard shows an overall summary report that consists of data like KPI, value by crop group, value by year and crop group etc. This provides an overall synopsis for the client at a glance.
